Learn the golf swing AIM & ALIGNMENT used by the Pros

Learning the golf swing aim and alignment is crucial for hitting the golf ball straighter, longer, and at your target. All professionals go through a specific routine, one that they have developed for their style of play. Read on to find out more about how the professional PGA and LPGA golfers develop their golf swing aim and alignment.

Before setting up the golf swing aim and alignment, each golfing pro makes notice of their environment, the conditions of the wind, and the lie of the golf ball. When the golfer approaches his or her golf ball, they first look down the fairway to see what their next shot will be like, if they need to fade, draw, or hit the ball high or low with spin or no spin. By the time they get to their ball, they have a pretty good idea of what type of shot they might need to make. Once looking at the ball, they check to see if it is a flat lie, or in a divot, or surrounded with heavy grass. After assessing the situation with the ball, they prepare for the proper golf swing aim and alignment.

The golf swing aim and alignment is divided into two parts: 1) aim and 2) alignment, of course. To aim where the ball should go, it is important to step back four or five passes behind the ball to get a view of the ball and a target down the fairway where you would like the ball to go. Many pros will even find a blade of grass or darker dirt spot on the ground just about a foot to three feet past the ball that is between the ball and the target down the fairway. While behind the ball a few passes, grip the club with your golf swing grip, then walk up to the ball. Put the face of the club directly behind the ball, but perpendicular to the imaginary line between the ball and the intermediate target. Once the club is aligned, take your normal golf stance which will put you in the correct golf swing aim and alignment.

Once you adjust your golf swing aim and alignment through a repeating routine for every shot, your contact of the golf ball will be much better, and you will hit the ball more on target than you have ever done before. Thus, your scores will drop dramatically, and you will enjoy the game of golf even more with your new golf swing aim and alignment.

Take your golf swing aim and alignment to the next level by watching how the professional golfers prepare for every shot. Watch them in live tournaments, or follow your favorite player in golf tournaments on television. You can learn a lot by seeing what the pros do on TV, and it is like getting free lessons every time you see a golf tournament.
